These guides are beta. All feedback to support@sahana.lk is very welcome.
Installation Guides
Installing Sahana takes a few steps, because it runs off a web server. You will end up running Sahana through a web browser, rather than directly from the Start menu (if you run MS Windows).
Retrieving the software (Phase 1)
General Users
Sahana is generally downloaded from SourceForge. If you run MS Windows, look for sahana-version_number.zip.
Power Users
For developers and power users, Sahana can easily be retrieved via CVS or Launchpad Bazaar.
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@sahana.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/sahana co -P sahana-phase2
bzr launchpad-login username bzr branch lp:sahana
See our instructions for installing via CVS. If you need a Launchpad account, go to http://www.launchpad.net/+login.
Getting Sahana Working (Phase 2)
This phase will install the software. Once everything appears to be working correctly, Sahana will do a self-check. You will be asked to enter the details of your database users and passwords. Those instructions are detailed in phase 2, below.
